Electoral Meeting of Wifaq Al-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan & Key Decisions of Executive Council
An important electoral meeting of Wifaq Al-Madaris Al-Arabia Pakistan was recently held at Jamia Darul Uloom Karachi. Renowned scholars and representatives from across Pakistan participated in this historic event. Qari Sultan Al-Haq represented Jamia Islamia Allai.
This was an electoral session where all participants unanimously elected the core leadership. The meeting unanimously elected Faqih-ul-Asr Hazrat Maulana Mufti Taqi Usmani as the President of Wifaq Al-Madaris for the next five years, and Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari as the General Secretary.
In this general body meeting, in light of the detailed address by the leader of Wifaq, Hazrat Maulana Muhammad Hanif Jalandhari, and the unanimous decisions of the executive council, the following 15-point summary and policies regarding the educational and administrative affairs of madaris were issued:
- 1. Examination Schedule: Next year's examinations under Wifaq will be conducted in a single phase and will be completed within one week, Insha'Allah.
- 2. Strict Measures Against Cheating: To maintain transparency, the student, along with the respective madrasah and invigilating staff, will be held accountable for any cheating.
- 3. Selection of Invigilators: Invigilators will be selected from madaris whose affiliation level matches the examination level (e.g., if a madrasah is affiliated up to Almiyah, teachers teaching up to that level will be appointed).
- 4. Paper Marking: Capable and qualified teachers who teach up to the Almiyah level will be selected for evaluation.
- 5. Mandatory Wifaq Syllabus: Adherence to the curriculum set by Wifaq Al-Madaris is compulsory. To maintain educational standards, non-Wifaq curricula must be abandoned.
- 6. Contemporary Sciences: Contemporary sciences must be taught as a necessity in madaris using the curriculum designed by Wifaq.
- 7. Online Students: Wifaq will not conduct examinations for online students; the respective madaris will manage them independently.
- 8. Online Dirasat-e-Deenia: The Dirasat-e-Deenia curriculum prepared by Wifaq is permitted to be taught online, and its examination will be conducted under Wifaq.
- 9. Training Programs: Regular training programs will be organized to improve the supervision, patronage, and administrative system of madaris.
- 10. Girls' Curriculum (Banaat): Review of the girls' curriculum is currently underway. Madaris are requested to send their suggestions to the central office immediately.
- 11. Financial Assistance for Staff: Financial support will be provided by Wifaq to the families of invigilators and office staff who pass away during service.
- 12. Provincial Conventions: Conventions for madaris at the provincial level will be organized soon, and the dates will be announced shortly.
- 13. Madrasah Registration Stance: The leadership is actively engaged regarding registration. Madaris are ready for registration under the law while safeguarding their freedom and autonomy. No new law driven by international or rulers' pressure will be accepted.
- 14. 26th Constitutional Amendment: Madaris are ready to register according to the bill passed by the National Assembly under the 26th amendment. However, the government's insistence on putting madaris under the Ministry of Education at its own whim is unacceptable.
- 15. Autonomy of Madaris: No compromise will be made on the freedom, curriculum, and educational system of madaris.
